SERVICE CART SPECIFICATIONS Materials: Service Carts are fabricated of high quality, cold rolled carbon steel, free of scale or rust and fully pickled. Exposed edges, corners and surface areas are free of sharp edges and all workmanship is of the highest quality as measured by the industry. Finish: All steel components shall be thoroughly cleaned and phosphatized for rust resistance in a five-stage pre-treatment process. A high grade of polyester/epoxy powder paint is to be applied electrostatically with a gloss reading of between 55 and 65. The finish shall have a salt spray rating of 250 hours or more. Upright Post: The Upright Post is constructed from 16 gauge cold rolled steel. The post is formed into an angle with both legs 1-35/64" measuring 25-5/8" long. Both legs of the angle are punched with pairs of corresponding holes top, middle and bottom along the length. These holes are for attaching the upper and lower trays as well as an optional center tray for the 24" wide carts. Lower Tray-Upper Tray-Optional Center Tray: All the Trays are constructed from 20 gauge cold rolled steel. They are formed into an opened top box 3-1/16" high. They are 36" or 30" long and either 24" or 16" wide depending on size ordered. Trays have (4) pre-punched holes in all sides which align with corresponding holes in the (4) Upright Posts. All exposed edges are rolled with a 3/8" diameter bead to prevent injury. Handles: The Handle is constructed from a round 20 gauge seam welded tube. The tube is 1" in diameter and is either 16-3/8" or 24-3/8" depending on size ordered. The tube has a smooth surface finish with no exposed burs. Handle Bracket: The Handle Bracket is constructed from 14 gauge cold rolled steel. Bracket is 3" x 4" with a 1-1/2" radius on exposed side. Bracket has 1/8" radius stiffening bead for rigidity. A 59/64" diameter extrusion is drawn from part for handle attachment. Bracket has (2) holes, which correspond with holes in the Upper Tray and the Upright Post. Brackets are used in pairs and when bolted in position locks handle in appropriate location. Caster Support: The Caster Support is constructed from 16 gauge cold rolled steel. Part is formed 4-53/64" wide with a 3/32" radius 7/16" high bead running the length on both sides of the part. Support is either 15-1/2" or 23-1/2" long depending on size ordered. Part is bolted between Lower Tray and caster (4) places. 5" Diameter Stationary Casters: Large Diameter Polyolefi n Casters are used to optimize the carts mobility. Casters are medium duty with a 240 pound capacity. Casters are zinc plated with double ball races with hardened raceways. Wheel rotates around a bolt and nut axle. Casters are mounted to a pre-punched flat plate, which allow them to be attached to Service Cart through (4) corresponding holes. 5" Diameter Swivel Casters: Large Diameter Polyolefin Casters are used to optimize the carts mobility. Casters are medium duty with a 240 pound capacity. Casters are zinc plated with double ball races with hardened raceways. Wheel rotates around a bolt and nut axle. Casters are mounted to a prepunched flat plate, which allow them to be attached to Service Cart through (4) corresponding holes. Casters are fitted with a Vertilok Brake system that pivots on the axle.
