Tambour Door Kits are designed to work in conjunction with our stationary shelving only! Tambour Door™ Kits are designed for our 4Post™, ThinStak® and Vu-Stak® Shelving. Kits available in 40" to 88" height and width in 24", 30", 36", 42" & 48". A spring loaded mechanism and a handle conveniently located approximately 32" from the floor makes for smooth, easy opening and closing of the door. Each TambourDoor™ unit includes all necessary mounting hardware and lock with two keys. Ideal for new or existing shelving.

Ease of Installation: Our stationary shelving features pre-punched holes for easy TambourDoor™ installation. Additionally, the unit mounts on the front of the shelving unit, making it easy to install multiple units on a run of shelving.
Compatibility: Our TambourDoor™ units are compatible with all lines of 4Post™, ThinStak® and Vu-Stak® Shelving. Contact us for inquiries into compatibility with other shelving systems. TambourDoor™ units are also available in a variety of widths to match your existing shelving.
Durability: Our TambourDoor™ unit attaches to the shelving unit with brackets and screws, not double-faced tape like some other units. TambourDoor™ units are covered by a lifetime warranty.
All TambourDoor™ Kits will add 10" to overall height and 3.25" to overall depth of shelving. There is a 2" space between the edge of the shelf and the door. Overall height of doors as shown below includes base and top set and/or reference shelf/spacer kit when used. Each TambourDoor™ unit includes all necessary mounting hardware and lock with two keys. Tambour Door Kit Housing Unit.
TambourDoor™ housing unit attaches the top of shelving along with track and a base for an easy assembly without taking apart the existing shelving. Housing unit adds 9" to the overall height of the shelving unit. Housing unit and track system are available in all of standard colors.

TambourDoor™ Kits General Information & Specifications
Tambour Door Security Systems.Product Description: The TambourDoor™ Kits is designed to retrofit onto new or existing open shelf storage units to ensure the security and privacy of medical records and other types of sensitive media. Easily mounted onto most shelving units, the TambourDoor™ Kits includes a spring tensioned door which rides along a track, recessing into a top mounted housing, allowing for quick access to media. All doors include a conveniently located built-in handle for easy open and close. TambourDoor™ Kits is available in three standard widths and able to install onto most existing shelving up to 88" high, making it an ideal HIPAA solution. Each TambourDoor™ unit includes all necessary mounting hardware and lock with two keys.
Upright Rails: Each upright is formed of a one piece 16 gauge cold rolled steel channel running the entire height of cabinet. Each door assembly includes one pair of rail assemblies designed to install flush to face of shelving, and are securely fastenedwith appropriate mounting hardware. Each Upright Rail includes a formed c-shaped molded PVC guide-channel allowing for smooth door operation. Each rail assembly includes interlocking tabs allowing for proper spacing when attached to Door Base.
Door Base: Formed of 18 gauge cold rolled steel into a one-inch high channel. Door Base is positioned on the floor, includes corresponding slots for proper spacing for upright rails, and pre-punched for lock mechanism.
Door Housing: Formed of 18 gauge cold rolled steel into a box shape and designed to fit the TambourDoor™ mechanism. Includes pre-punched holes for proper alignment and attachment onto all American Filing Solutions shelving. All mounting hardware included. Door Housing will add 9" to the height of shelving.
Tambour Door: Manufactured of plastic and extruded from high strength, wear resistant thermo plastic. All doors include factory pre-tensioned spring-loaded mechanism for proper balance and movement of door. All doors have built-in handle located approximately 32" from floor and include pincer-action lock with two keys. Locks are random keyed. Master keys are available.
Finish: All steel parts are thoroughly cleaned using a three-stage iron phosphate washer and thencoated with an Epoxy-Hybrid powder coat finish using a state-of-the-art electrostatic paint system. Powder coating provides a superior, attractive, uniform finish that is more durable, scratch and corrosion resistant, and environmentally friendly than liquid paint.
