Finish: All steel components shall be thoroughly cleaned and phosphatized for rust resistance in a five-stage pre-treatment process. A high grade of polyester/epoxy powder paint is to be applied electrostatically with a gloss reading of between 55 and 65. The finish shall have a salt spray rating of 250 hours or more. Sides: 20 gauge, Flanged at top, bottom and rear, channel formation in front. Backs: Flat two pieces with shelf locking strip welded on. Sill: 18 gauge Channel formation with return flange for door strike. Flanged at ends. Doors: 20 gauge, Flanged at top, bottom and rear. Channel formation at edges. Door strike on left hand door is hemmed for smooth edge. Reinforced with full length stiffener. Top: The tops is 20 gauge steel, formed into a “c” channel formation having an offset for a continuous door strike. The top is slotted to accept the lock bar from the three-point locking system. Studs are prewelded to the underside of the KD top for assembly. Studs are not used on the welded cabinets. Top surface is free of holes and visible attachment hardware. Locking Mechanism: Three point with 5/8” x 1/8” flat bar and nylon silencer. Hinges: Separable two piece hinge. Lower half welded to sides, upper half to door. Four hinges per door. Bolts & Nuts: #8 - 32 x 3/8” slotless head bolts with hex nuts. No exposed bolt heads.
